n-Hexane is used as a solvent to extract edible oils from seed and vegetable crops. Commercial grades of hexane are used as solvents for glues, varnishes, and inks, cleaning agent (degreaser) in the printing industry, liquid in low temperature thermometers. Other uses are as fuels and fuel additives, intermediates and laboratory chemicals.</p>
