Recommended Applications
A. Agricultural Spray Spreader
RXSOL Non Ionic Surfactant helps improve the distribution of spray droplets across leaf surfaces.
It can be evaluated for use with:
-
Insecticides
-
Fungicides
-
Herbicides
-
Foliar fertilizers
-
Micronutrient sprays
-
Plant nutrient solutions
B. Spreader and Sticker for Foliar Sprays
The product improves surface wetting and may help reduce runoff from treated foliage.
This can be useful when spraying crops with waxy or water-repellent leaf surfaces.
C. Soil Wetting and Penetration
The non-ionic surfactant reduces the surface tension of irrigation water, promoting more uniform wetting of water-repellent soils.
Potential applications include horticulture, agricultural irrigation and soil conditioning.
D. Drip Irrigation Systems
RXSOL Non Ionic Surfactant may be used in appropriately tested drip irrigation programs to improve wetting and distribution of irrigation solutions.
Compatibility with fertilizers, irrigation equipment and crop conditions must be confirmed.
E. Industrial Wetting Applications
Subject to application testing, the surfactant may also be evaluated as a wetting agent in industrial cleaning and water-based chemical formulations.

Key Features and Benefits
-
Excellent Wetting Action: Reduces surface tension and improves contact between spray solution and leaf surfaces.
-
Uniform Spreading: Helps distribute agrochemicals evenly across waxy and irregular plant surfaces.
-
Improved Adhesion: Reduces droplet beading and helps retain spray solution on foliage.
-
Enhanced Penetration: Promotes wetting of treated plant surfaces and soil.
-
Non-Ionic Character: Offers broad compatibility potential with agricultural formulations.
-
Biodegradable Surfactant System: Designed using biodegradable surfactant chemistry, subject to confirmation by standard biodegradation testing.
-
Improved Spray Efficiency: May reduce spray losses and improve treatment uniformity.
-
Multiple Applications: Suitable for evaluation in foliar spraying, drip irrigation and soil wetting applications.
Method of Application
-
Fill the spray tank with approximately 50–70% of the required clean water.
-
Start gentle agitation.
-
Add the recommended agricultural chemical according to its label mixing instructions.
-
Add the measured quantity of RXSOL Non Ionic Surfactant where permitted.
-
Top up with the remaining water.
-
Mix until the solution is uniform.
-
Apply using suitable calibrated spraying equipment.
Conduct a small-scale jar compatibility test before preparing large batches. For sensitive crops, perform a small-area phytotoxicity test.
Compatibility
RXSOL Non Ionic Surfactant may be compatible with many water-based agricultural formulations, including selected insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and fertilizers.
However, non-ionic chemistry alone does not guarantee compatibility.
Compatibility depends on pesticide formulation, spray water quality, pH, surfactant concentration and application conditions. Avoid assuming compatibility with all agrochemicals.
Storage and Handling
Store in tightly closed original containers in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area.
Avoid excessive heating, freezing and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Keep containers properly labelled and prevent contamination during handling.
Use chemical-resistant gloves, protective eyewear and suitable protective clothing. Refer to the approved Safety Data Sheet for detailed safety instructions.

Non Ionic Surfactant – RXSOL-81-8689-210
Technical Working Principle
RXSOL Non Ionic Surfactant functions by lowering the surface tension of water and modifying the interaction between liquid droplets and treated surfaces.
Ordinary water tends to form rounded droplets on waxy leaves because of its relatively high surface tension.
When an effective non-ionic surfactant is added, surfactant molecules orient themselves at the liquid-air and liquid-solid interfaces, reducing interfacial tension.
This promotes three important effects:
Wetting: Spray liquid makes better contact with the leaf surface.
Spreading: Droplets spread across a larger surface area, improving coverage.
Penetration: The liquid can more readily enter accessible surface structures and wet water-repellent materials, although actual uptake of active ingredients depends on the formulation and plant surface.

Role of Ingredients
-
C9–11 Alcohol Ethoxylate: Provides wetting, spreading and surface tension reduction.
-
C12–15 Alcohol Ethoxylate: Provides additional wetting and emulsification performance.
-
Alkyl Polyglucoside: Provides supplementary wetting and can support formulation stability.
-
Propylene Glycol: Functions as a coupling solvent and formulation aid.
-
Sodium Citrate: Provides mild buffering capacity.
-
Demineralized Water: Acts as the carrier and diluent.
This formulation is intended for initial laboratory development. Its agricultural performance, biodegradability, crop safety and compatibility have not been validated.
4. Manufacturing Procedure
-
Charge approximately 75% of the required demineralized water into a clean stainless steel or compatible mixing vessel.
-
Start moderate agitation.
-
Dissolve sodium citrate completely.
-
Add propylene glycol and mix until uniform.
-
Slowly add C9–11 Alcohol Ethoxylate.
-
Add C12–15 Alcohol Ethoxylate while maintaining agitation.
-
Add Alkyl Polyglucoside gradually to minimize excessive foaming.
-
Add the remaining demineralized water to achieve the final batch weight.
-
Mix until homogeneous.
-
Check appearance, pH, specific gravity, stability and surface tension.
-
Adjust the formulation only after laboratory evaluation.
Recommended processing temperature: Approximately 25–35°C, provided all raw materials remain fully fluid and compatible.
Avoid unnecessary high-speed agitation because it may introduce excessive air and foam.
Important Formulation Consideration: Conventional vs Superspreader
The proposed Formulation A is a conventional alcohol-ethoxylate/APG-based non-ionic surfactant.
It should not be described as an organosilicone superspreader without the appropriate chemistry and performance testing.
For very low surface tension and rapid spreading over highly waxy leaves, a polyether-modified trisiloxane-based system may be considered as an alternative formulation platform.
Organosilicone surfactants can deliver substantially stronger spreading at low concentrations, but require special attention to hydrolytic stability, pH, compatibility and crop safety.
The published RXSOL reference dosage of 0.1–0.3 mL/L is very low for many conventional surfactant formulations. Therefore, Formulation A must be evaluated experimentally before adopting that dosage.

For RXSOL-81-8689-210, the most important point to confirm is whether your existing product is a conventional non-ionic surfactant or a silicone-based agricultural superspreader.
Is your objective to manufacture an economical non-ionic agricultural wetting agent, or a high-performance superspreader that works at only 0.1–0.3 mL per litre?
That distinction will determine the appropriate commercial formulation, specifications and dosage claims.
